Head of Engineering &
Software Engineer
As a father of two sons, nothing motivates me more than the prospect of ensuring a future worth living for my children.
For this reason, I have decided to dedicate all my creativity, passion, and time to this goal and love working for companies whose products aim to make our world digitally a better place.
As a techie who has planned, built, monitored, optimized, and maintained many scaled software solutions with decentralized services, I am firmly convinced that decentralization, connectivity, and scalability can solve many current technical problems. With good UX, software can also contribute to solving the economic, environmental, and social challenges of our time.
As a tech enthusiast, I would be thrilled to work for a company that is working on solving such problems.
Due to my many years of professional experience, I know that the best products are made in agile processes with good teams: Organizing this is a technical and communicative task that I understand as an integral part of my daily work.
I have an extensive technical background, agile project management experience, personnel management skills and bring plenty of startup experience.
As the founder of a software company, I have produced complex business applications for SMEs and international corporations. As CTO, I have built teams in startups and designed, developed and scaled complex web applications, monitored operations and ensured their quality in both monolithic and microservice-based infrastructures.
And most recently as Head of Engineering at a Greentech startup, I built international development teams remotely only, set coding and quality standards and, with the introduction of agile formats and toolsets, contributed significantly to a corporate culture characterized by openness, transparency and agility.
I love turning ideas into viable products and working in agile contexts.
Some of my skills:
The employment reference of inoqo GmbH.
Here are some references of my work.
The food industry produces around a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. Reason enough to develop software that calculates the climate impact of retailers' and food producers' products, as well as an app that not only provides consumers with background information on food, but also enables consumers to improve their CO2 footprint as easily and playfully as possible.
The insurance industry is one of the heavily regulated industries in the DACH region. All the more exciting to be able to co-develop a platform for several digital insurers using agile methods and a modern tech stack (Rails, kubernetes & Docker) and integrate observability & monitoring.
Samsons, the brand for sustainable, plastic-free children's clothing made of leather, is being rolled out digitally and getting a contemporary online shop based on Shopify.
Conception and development of a digital C2C transport platform for goods of all kinds.
Development and operations of the leading Danish holiday home internet platform fejo.dk - with a complex infrastructure, both monolithic applications and services in the AWS cloud.
Responsive multi-client web platform for 'Haus und Grund' for managing rental agreements in Rails 4. Migration with >100K records.
Development of a Media Asset Management System for the marketing and worldwide distribution of an electronics company (Universal Electronics) in Ruby on Rails.
One of my own developments is the Product Information Management System Coreinform - transferring and controlling data, information, files to any device. Rails 4&5 with cloud storage.
Infrastructure management and development of business applications for various companies in the postal sector - e.g. IT network rollout of 60 branches for the former Deutsche Post subsidiary FirstMail and 10 branches of the mail sorter Freesort.
This application is written in Ruby on Rails and deployed on a Linux server with Apache web server.
